ABOUT

The last two years have been the busiest for Producer, Remixer and DJ, Josh Harris. In early 2008, Josh found himself working as musical director and keyboardist for Seal for a number of private performances in the US and abroad. While spending time on the road, Josh continued his successful string of remixes by completing remixes for Seal and Alanis Morrisette. Earlier this year, Josh had the opportunity to DJ in Poland with Polish singer Ilona Europa. Ilona and Josh are now taking their "Rocktronica" show to the Laserium Cyber Theater in Los Angeles. Josh has also re-connected with Mike Rizzo, and they are now producing and remixing under the Groove Police moniker. Recent remixes include: Beyonce ("Sweet Dreams"), Solange ("Would've Been the One"), and Maxwell ("Bad Habits"). Josh is also writing with Lindbergh Palace partner, Jonathan Benedict, for the production team's debut album, due out in 2010.

Although Josh is a self-taught engineer and producer, his musical background is fairly traditional. Originally from St. Louis, he started taking classical piano lessons at age 7, and has a degree in music, with an emphasis in music theory and composition from Lawrence University. After spending time in Chicago and Nashville, Josh moved to New York City in 2001. He was intorduced to DJ Mike Rizzo, and quickly became Mike's "go to" programmer and engineer. The first remix that Josh and Mike worked on together was "Never Had A Dream Come True" by S Club 7. That remix was one of the most played tracks that summer on New York's popular radio station, WKTU. Over the next few years, Josh racked up an impressive resume of remix work with Mike Rizzo as well as his former production team, The Passengerz.

In 2004, Josh went on his own, and started to bring the world of rock and dance together with remixes for The Killers, KoRn and The Lovemakers. In 2007, Josh's first full length DJ compilation, "Distortion on the Dance Floor" was released on Toucan Cove/Universal.

To date, Josh has been a part of over 200 remixes, either as producer, programmer or engineer. In 2007 and 2008, Josh was nominated for the IDMA (International Dance Music Association) "Best Remixer". Some of his music has been used in "America's Next Top Model", MTV's "Room Raiders" and "Damage Control".
